QCFs (formally NVQs)
QCF stands for Qualification Credits Framework. Within a QCF you will work towards a set number of credits to achieve your qualification.
The main part of the learning in QCF will take place in the work place where a qualified assessor will come out to you and complete workplace practical observations and assignments. They will support you to achieve the correct number of credits for your chosen qualification.
Functional Skills (formally Basic Skills and Key Skills)
We offer Functional Skills in English and Maths. You will be learn how to problem solve, represent, analyse and interpret information. You will work towards completing two tests, one in maths and one in English.
Apprenticeship Frameworks
An apprenticeship programme is a great way to increase career prospects at the same time as gaining a nationally recognised qualification. It is available for people who are already in employment as well as those who are currently seeking employment or an apprenticeship.
As an apprentice you will gain and develop knowledge and skills in the workplace while at the same time achieve your chosen qualification. Apprenticeships combine classroom learning with hands on experience. As an apprentice you will be required to spend 4 days in the work place and 1 day in college.
The apprenticeship frame work combines a QCF, functional skills and underpinning knowledge certificate. In addition you will gain skills on CV writing, job search and interview techniques.
If you are not already in employment we will assist you to find an apprenticeship placement where you will earn a training allowance.
Short Courses
We also offer a range of short courses relating to different sectors.
